Pleasantries of Remorse

a poem

(to those with no one)

I often think back on a moment in my mind,
when I'm haunted by the beauty of your face for just a fraction of time,
when everything for me stops and the moment is mine,
but time always pushes me further down the line.
A brief moment of peace, two hearts coincide,
but another day rises erasing my illusions with the intrusion of sunshine.
Again, I'm all alone on the street with just me, no bright linings in sight.
No positivity left, no solidarity to find,
just another broken dream to excise,
and just toss it out with the rest of my prime.
My life, today, try to do it with a smile on my face.
I'm not about the chase, just need a soul to embrace,
but reality is my case, am I truly happy?, man that's really hard to fucking base.
So many fake smiles glancing over at me,
I see you fucking snakes in the grass, you're bullshit ain't hard to see.
So my brave princess go out and test that mentality,
think you can change him, make him what you want, turn shit into gold, don't mind my skepticality,
but my words are in the wind taken out along with the morning breeze,
Hoping time will just freeze so I can say what I really mean.
I really care for you, but if you just got to go get hurt it can't be on me,
but after he hurts you and deserts you, how the fuck did you think it would be?
Happy fucking fantasies of how he used and abused and took you for your life's being,
So if you're looking for advice, that ship has long set sail, I gave and no one listens,
I've done nothing but pay attention.
I care so much for you fuckers you just eat at every aspect of me.

*when I die make note it was with a smile
and whatever is right, make sure they know that I tried.
